BREAKING: Tension Grips NASS As Another Senator Dies

Senator Mustapha Bukar of the All Progressives Congress, in Katsina has died, THE WHISTLER has learnt.

Bukar, who represented Katsina North senatorial district (Daura zone) where President Muhammadu Buhari comes from, was said to have died after a brief illness on Wednesday morning in Abuja.

At the time of his death, the lawmaker, who was the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Power, was 63 years old.

Bukar, born in Daura on December 31, 1954, was a civil engineer by training.

Bukar’s sudden demise comes two weeks after another APC lawmaker, representing Bauchi South, Senator Ali Wakil, slumped and died at his residence in Abuja.

Wakil was among the ten Pro-Buhari senators who staged a walk out after the Senate adopted the report of the Conference Committee on the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill last month.

Recall that last week, Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, Umar Buba Jibrin, died at the age of 58.

Jibrin, who represented Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency in the House of Representatives died in Abuja in the early hours of Friday, March 30.

Also, last July, Abdullahi Mohammed Wamakko, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Aware/Wamakko Federal Constituency of Sokoto state, died at the National Hospital, Abuja.

In April, 2017, senator representing Osun West, Isiaka Adeleke, died aged 62, at a hospital in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
