BREAKING: Three Feared Dead As Gas Explosion Rocks Lagos Market

Three persons have been reportedly killed as gas explosion occured at the busy Ladipo Market in the Mushin area of Lagos.

The explosion, which caused panic at the market and the surrounding area, reportedly happened at around 8am.

The explosion was said to have happened on Ojekunle Street, but the cause is yet to be ascertained.

Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that some of the bodies had been recovered by rescuers at the scene.

Soldiers and other security agents were also said to have been deployed in the area to control the crowd so that emergency responders would be able to carry out rescue operations without hindrance.

A mechanic at the market said, ” At least three persons have been confirmed dead now. The casuality figure may increase but soldiers are around and fire fighters as well as officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.”
