Bride Flees Marriage Ceremony Over Groom’s Wrong Signature

A Zimbabwean bride fled from her court wedding on Thursday after a misunderstanding arose between her and her groom after his signature was discovered to be wrong on their marriage certificate.

The unidentified bride was said to have caused a stir at the Harare Magistrate court, where the marriage was meant to take place, reports iHarare.

The husband reportedly appended a wrong signature on the certificate, which nullified the procedure and it had to be repeated.

Before the procedure could be redone, an argument ensued between the couple, and shortly after, the bride ran out of the court premises, hailed a taxi, and that was the end of the wedding.

One of the groom’s relatives who spoke on condition of anonymity said the bride overreacted by storming out of the courtroom because of the mistake as it could have been rectified before it got out of proportion.

“I am sure the court orderlies would have been able to rectify the mistake before it blew out of proportion,” said the relative.
