The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has said President Muhammadu Buhari, and his party,  the All Progressives Congress, APC will lose the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The House of Representatives Speaker said the president and his party will lose the elections because they have no constituency.

“APC and President Muhammadu Buhari are going to lose this election, because he has no constituency, and I’ll tell you what I mean. It has always been said that constituency consists of the Talakawas, the masses. Now for close to four years, what has the president done for the Talakawas, for the masses, the Almajiris, what have they done? One thing if we can remember; none.

“I thought he was going to be minister of education really, as against minister of petroleum, because the president is the minister of petroleum, and if truly the Talakawas, the masses were the issue, in his mind and he knows that without education they cannot amount to anything, why didn’t he chose to be minister of Education as against picking petroleum?”, Dogara asked

He disclosed that the ruling party was afraid as the success of his party’s campaign, as delaying the election cannot give them any advantage.

“The success of our campaigns to a large extent has sent jitters into the camp of the opposition. I want to say that delaying or postponing our victory will not give them any advantage. Whenever these elections are going to hold, I assure you that by the grace we are going to win this election. They talk about campaigning on issues; we didn’t want to raise many issues in the course of the campaign.

On the death threat to ballot box snatchers by the president, Mr. Dogara noted that “So, concerning the orders that have been given to the military. A lot has been said but I have faith in the military. I know officers that are very conscious. Some of them are very close friends and they know what the constitution of the country says. In a particular school of jurisprudence in law, we equate unlawful orders in a democracy to the orders of an armed robber.”
