Buhari Appoints Abubakar Fikpo As DG Of NDE

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday appointed Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo as the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment.

The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, announced in a tweet on Tuesday.

Prior to his appointment, Fikpo was the acting DG of the NDE, said Shehu.

The President also approved the appointment of Issa Aremu as the Director of the National Institute for Labour Studies, the media aide added.

He said, “Comrade Aremu has been a notable Trade Unionist who has risen through the ranks in the Trade Union hierarchy in Nigeria.

“The appointments which are for a period of four years take effect from May 18, 2021.”
