Buhari Arrives Lagos For APC Presidential Rally

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Lagos state for the presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Buhari’s arrival in Lagos was announced in a tweet by his personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad.

The president arrived the state in the Nigerian Air Force ‘Eagle One’ otherwise known as the NAF-001.

He is said to currently be at a meeting with members of the Organized Private Sector (OPS) at the Lagos House, Marina, ahead of the presidential rally at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Meanwhile, ahead of Buhari’s Lagos visit for the presidential rally, a coalition of 53 political parties in the state were said to have adopted him as their candidate in the February 16 presidential election.

They political parties, which identified themselves as the Coalition of Political Parties in Lagos State (COPPILS), endorsed the President at an event in Surulere.

The event was attended by the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), APC’s National Legal Adviser, Babatunde Ogala, and the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, amongst others.

A communiqué signed by its convener, Akinola Obadia, read, “Based on the numerous achievements of the President Buhari in the last three and half years, which include reduction in $5 million importation spending, infrastructure projects on Lagos-Ibadan axis and the flag of Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonsoki-Ojota Expressway, the coalition hereby endorses the candidacy of President Buhari.”
