Buhari Calls Nigerians Lazy While His Son Rides Expensive Bikes – Omokri

Reno Omokri, aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s comments describing Nigerian youths as lazy.

Speaking on Wednesday, at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster, London, Buhari said a lot of Nigerian youths do nothing and want everything free, relying on the notion that Nigeria is an oil-rich nation.

“About the economy, we have a very young population, our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. This is a very conservative one,” Buhari said.

“More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education free.”

But reacting in a series of tweets, Omokri said contrary to Buhari’s statement, Nigerian youths are hardworking.

He said it is because of laziness on the part of Buhari that allows him make such a statement against the Nigerian youths.

Omokri said the President should rather call his son, Yusuf, lazy as he is busy riding multimillion power bikes in Abuja.

Recall that in December 2017, Yusuf Buhari, the President’s only son, was involved in a power bike accident in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The power bike is believed to be worth millions of naira.
