Buhari Cares About No One But Himself, Fayose Reacts To Lekki Shooting

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has condemned the alleged killing of unarmed protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State on Tuesday.

Fayose said the Lekki episode was not only saddening, but was as a result of the election of “a clearly incompetent man” to the highest office in the land.

According to the former governor, President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to issue a statement since the shooting incident was proof that he only cares about himself.

“My heart is heavy. Like every other concerned Nigerians, I’m worried. I’m sad that soldiers were sent to shoot at our youths, who were only expressing their anger against the system. I sympathize with families of those who lost their lives and pray that God will heal the injured,” Fayose said in a series of tweets.

“However, the sad reality we must face now is that the current situation in our nation is as result of allowing a clearly incompetent man to ascend to the highest office in the land. I saw all these coming and I warned Nigerians. You can’t wear a white robe on a pig.

“Life does not matter to a clueless leader whose only fulfilment is that he is called Mr President. He cares about no one except himself. That’s why up till now, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has not said a word. Sad!,” he said.

THE WHISTLER reported earlier that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had distanced himself from the deployment of the soldiers who reportedly shot sporadically at unarmed protesters.

Sanwo-Olu had attributed the incident to “forces beyond our direct control”, but assured that he would “work with the FG to get to the root of this unfortunate incident and stabilise all security operations to protect the lives of our residents. I will give a state broadcast in the morning.”
