Buhari Dissolves NNPC Board

President Muhammadu Buhari, has dissolved the board of directors of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with immediate effect.

The dissolution was conveyed in a letter signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi.

Reports has it that the dissolution may not be unconnected to the alleged widespread corruption in the country. The President thanked members of the dissolved board for their services to the Nation.

The NNPC Management is made up of Group Managing Director Dr. Joseph T. Dawha; Group Executive Director, Finance & Accounts Mr. Bernard O.N. Otti and Group Executive Director Corporate Services Dr. Dan Efebo.

The Board is usually chaired by a substantive petroleum minister. Members of the dissolved board are Alhaji Abdullahi Bukar, Mr. Danladi Wadzani, Prof. Olusegun Okunnu, Mr. Danladi Kifasi, Mr. Steven Oronsaye, and Mr. Ikechukwu Oguine, Coordinator, Legal Services/Secretary to the Corporation.
