Buhari Group Warns Secondus, Refrain From Making Negative Comments Against President

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has cautioned Prince Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, to desist from making negative remarks against President Muhammadu Buhari.

Chairman of the Organization, Mr Austin Braimoh, made the call in a jointly signed statement with its Secretary, Mr Cassidy Madueke, on Wednesday in Abuja.

They described Secondus’ comments at the Ekiti PDP rally as careless and capable of inciting Nigerians against President Buhari.

Last Thursday, while addressing a crowd at the flag presentation rally for Kolapo Olusola, PDP’s governorship candidate in the July 14 election in Ekiti, Secondus said Buhari and the APC are behind the killings in the country.

“Many Nigerians are being killed in Taraba, Benue and Plateau States. How many of our people will you kill? APC and its people are not God. We refuse to be intimidated, it is their style to intimidate.

“This country is experiencing civil war because of killing and Buhari is behind it, APC is behind it, PDP will take over,” the PDP chairman had said.

But reacting today, the Pro-Buhari group said such comments are capable of aggravating the current security situation in the country.

The group further called on security agencies to caution Secondus to desist forthwith from making such comments.

“For the information of Mr Secondus and his co-travellers, we need to remind them that under their past administrations, Nigeria was under siege and nearly collapsed, but for the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration that has already brought the situation under control.

“As we approach the 2019 elections, he should always weigh the implication of his public comments to avoid the possibility of plunging the country into unnecessary crisis.

“As the chairman of the leading opposition party, he must realize that he owes it a duty to the country to exhibit the highest sense of decorum in his conduct and public utterances,” it said.
