The presidential aide quoted Buhari as saying Baru, “worked very hard to initiate reforms in virtually all departments of the corporation, bringing it up to speed with global trends and best practices.”

He added that the president acknowledged, “Baru’s contributions to ensuring stability in the oil sector in Nigeria, with a more guaranteed supply and predictable price regime that weakened unscrupulous parallel marketers, especially during festive seasons.”

Meanwhile, a family source had confirmed to THE WHISTLER on Saturday that the late Baru died from complications related to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The source said a COVID-19 test carried out on Baru before he died on Friday returned positive.
