Buhari, Ministers Hold 8th Virtual FEC Meeting 

A meeting of the Federal Executive Council has opened at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

It’s the 8th virtual meeting of the FEC since the outbreak of the COVID -19 pandemic.

The session is presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari; Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Folasade Yemi-Esan; and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno ( retd. ), were sighted at the opening before the session went behind closed-doors.

As has been the practice lately, only ministers with memos to present to FEC are attending physically.

The majority of cabinet members hook up to the meeting from their different locations.

Ministers sighted at the opening included those of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola; Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola; Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed; Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami; and Minister of State for Education, Mr Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

Details of deliberations at the meeting are exected to be released later in day.
