Buhari Ordered Ganduje To Dethrone Emir Sanusi – Kwankwaso Alleges

Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the removal of Muhammadu Sanusi, as Emir of Kano.

The former Kano state governor made the allegation on Wednesday while stating that the dethronement was a piece of sad news.

Kwankwaso told BBC Hausa Service, that the President was the brain behind Sanusi’s sack. The allegation was contrary to claims that Buhari had intervened in the Kano emirate crisis.

According to him: “we believe here in Kano that Buhari interferes where he wishes.

“Kano state government officials have been saying they were directed to dethrone Sanusi ll. Buhari instructed them.”

He added that: “the president doesn’t interfere where his intervention is needed, but interferes on issues he is supposed to be neutral about.”

Kwankwaso also said that the former emir Sanusi was a global citizen.Recall that Kwankwaso had appointed Sanusi as the 14th Emir of Kano in 2014, while on Monday, the Kano State Government announced his dethronement and subsequently banished him, according to reports.An official of the Kano State government had also revealed that Kwankwaso had issued two queries to the former emir when he was governor of the state.

Meanwhile, Aminu Ado Bayero, the son of late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, had on Monday replaced Sanusi as the 15th Emir of Kano.
