Buhari Returns To Abuja, Travels To Jordan Saturday

President Muhammadu Buhari will join other Heads of State in Aqaba, Jordan, for a security retreat slated for Saturday and Sunday, December 2 and 3, 2017, the Presidency says.

According to a statement by the Presidency, the retreat, hosted by HM King Abdullah II of Jordan, will review strategies in fighting terrorism and reinforce joint security structures that will be more proactive in preventing attacks.

At the retreat, Mr. Buhari is expected to share Nigeria’s experience on terrorism and its spread across West Africa, and solicit more support for pre-emptive measures that will neutralise the activities of insurgents in the sub-region.

The president will be accompanied to Jordan by Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun and Abubakar Bello of Niger State.

Also on the delegation, are the Ministers of Defence, Mansur Mohammed Dan Ali, Education, Adamu Adamu, Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, National Security Adviser, Major-Gen Babagana Monguno and the Acting Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Dawuda.

Recall that President Buhari on Thursday returned to Abuja, after attending the 5th African Union-European Union Summit in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
