Buhari’s Return ‘Imminent’ – Saraki

The Senate President made this disclosure on Wednesday night when he led leaders of the National Assembly to meet with President Buhari in Abuja House, London.
Saraki also calmed concerns over the state of President Buhari’s health, saying the president is gritty, “cheerful and in good spirits”.

Other principal lawmakers who met with President Buhari at his London base includes Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and the Senate majority leader, Ahmed Lawan.

A statement on the Senate President’s official Facebook page reads: “Buhari is Healthy, No cause for alarm, Says Saraki

“Myself, Rt Honorable Speaker, Yakubu Dogara and leader of Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan paid a visit to President Buhari in Abuja House in London.

“We were delighted to see that President Buhari is doing well, was cheerful and in good spirits.

“The president I saw today is healthy, witty and himself.

“The presiden’ts absence and imminent return shows that there is no vacuum in government and our system of democracy is working with all organs of government fulfilling their mandate. And let me use the time tested cliché, there is no cause for alarm.”

Recall that President Buhari last month embarked on a 10-day vacation to the United Kingdom and was expected to resume work on February 6, but later extended the leave indefinitely on the advice of his doctors.

His absence raised concerns from all corners, with many calling on the Presidency to reveal the President’s state of health to the country.

Meanwhile, President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said on a television interview early this week, that the President is “homesick” and will be back to the country soon.
