Buhari To CBN: Blacklist Firms Importing Palm Oil, Other Items

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria to blacklist any firm importing palm oil and forty two other items into Nigeria.

This was disclosed by the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele on Friday in Abuja during a meeting with oil palm producers.

Emefiele said the presidential directive was issued against those caught smuggling or dumping any restricted items into the country.

He said the bank will also provide support to firms and individuals that want to expand the production of ten different commodities in Nigeria as mandated by the president.

The ten different products are rice, maize, cassava, tomatoes, cotton, oil palm, poultry, fish, livestock dairy and cocoa.
