#BuhariMustGo: Twitter Reacts To Lawsuit Asking Court To Declare President ‘Mentally Unfit’

Reactions have started trailing a lawsuit filed by opposition political parties on Thursday asking the Federal High Court in Abuja to declare President Muhammadu Buhari “mentally unfit” to seek re-election in the February 16 presidential election.

In the lawsuit filed with suit no: FHC/ABJ/CS/112/2019, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) asked the Federal High Court to save Nigeria from national disaster that may follow the re-election of President Buhari into office.

The CUPP argues that the President is allegedly unstable mentally and should not endanger the country by returning for a second term.

The political parties asked the court to restrain “INEC from recognising his candidacy,” adding that the court should compel Buhari to make public records of his medical checkups since he became Nigerian President.

The CUPP said its request “is in pursuant of sections 137(C) and 251(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and under the inherent jurisdiction of this court.”

The opposition political parties’ request has since generated reactions as Nigerians have taken to Twitter to express mixed opinions using the hash tag “#BuhariMustGo”
