Buhari’s Cabinet: How The Zones Are Represented

After three months of waiting, President Muhammadu Buhari finally inaugurated his cabinet and assigned portfolios to 43 of his ministers on Wednesday.

The ministers took their oath of office during Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which held inside the Council Chamber at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

A look at the composition of the ministers vis-a-vis the country’s six geopolitical zones shows that President Buhari appointed five senior ministers and two junior ministers from the South West region.

In the North East, four senior ministers and three juniors were appointed in the region.

The North West region got nine senior ministers without a junior mister, while the North Central got three senior ministers and four junior ministers.

The President appointed four senior ministers and two junior ministers from the South East, while  appointing three senior ministers and four junior ministers from the South-South region.
