Buhari’s Declaration: Obasanjo To Reinforce 2019 Strategy For President’s Eviction

In the light of President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration to run for presidency in 2019, the former President Olusegun Obasanjo-led Coalition for Nigeria Movement has said it will “reinforce a strategy” to block the president’s re-election.

This was according to Chairman of the National Unity Party (NUP), Perry Opara, who told journalists on Monday that the coalition will soon meet Obasanjo to discuss the strategy.

Opara, who noted that Obasanjo was out of the country, said the former president will issue a statement in regard to the matter when he returns.

Recall that Obasanjo is among the notable Nigerian leaders who are against the president’s re-election in 2019.

“We are going to commence meeting with Obasanjo to reinforce our strategy for 2019. Obasanjo is not in the country now but as soon as he comes back he will issue a statement that Nigerians will follow and take it from there,” he said.
