Buhari’s Govt Pampers Terrorists, Kicks Opposition – Omokri

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide, Reno Omokri has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration of praising Boko Haram insurgents.

Omokri in a statement via his official Twitter handle (@renoomokri) on Monday, equally accused the current administration of trying to silence the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The former presidential aide questioned why the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, will applaud the insurgents for showing “goodwill” and same time call for the de-registration of the PDP.

Speaking on the release of the abducted Dapchi School Girls in Lagos on Sunday, Mr Mohammed said, “as I said earlier, the insurgents decided to return the girls to where they picked them from as a goodwill gesture”.

The minister further stated,“There should be a new criterion for withdrawing the registration of a party like the PDP which has failed both as a ruling and an opposition party! If a party cannot rule and cannot be in opposition, what else can it do”.

Reacting on Monday, Mr Omokri said Mohammed had in 2013 criticised then President Goodluck Jonathan for banning Boko Haram,

“Yesterday, Lai Mohammed praised Boko Haram for showing “goodwill” and called for @OfficialPDPNig to be banned. When Jonathan banned Boko Haram, Lai declared the ban illegal, but now he thinks it is right to ban PDP. See what we have become? We praise terrorists and ban opposition.” Omokri said.
