BUK Appoints 15 New Professors, 28 Associate Profs

The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) said it has appointed forty three of its teaching staff as professors and associate professors.

The disclosure was made via the university’s weekly bulletin on Friday.

In a statement signed by the Director,Examinations, Admissions and Records (DEAR), Amina Abdullahi, the promotions of some of BUK’s academicians was noted at the  379th senate meeting held on Wednesday 24, December, 2019, and effected from 1, October, 2019.

Those promoted to the rank of professors are the Director of Centre for Quranic Studies, Muhammad Babangida Muhammad (Professor of Islamic Studies), Nuratu Mohammed (Geography) and Haruna Musa as Professors of Pure and Industrial Chemistry.

The rest are: Rabia Salihu Said (Professor of Physics), Hassana Sani Darma (Special Education); Babatunde Olamide Bamgbose(Professor of Oral Diagnostic Dentistry); Amina Abubakar Ismail (Economics), Shehu Usman Yahaya (Agronomy) and Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim (Environmental Management).

Furthermore, the senate noted the promotion of twenty-eight (28) others to the rank of Associate Professors.

 They are: Musa A. Auyo, (Library and Information Science), Hajara Umar Sanda (Mass Communication).

Others include, “Nu’uman Muhammad Habib (Sociology), Bala Saleh Dawakin Tofa (Sociology); Garba Iliyasu (Medicine), Ibrahim Mu’azzam Saminu Maibushira (Islamic Studies and Shariah), Attah Rapheal Avidire (Obstetrics and Gynecology) and Omoje Uchenna Kelvin (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery), among others,” the bulletin stated.
