The US-based media company, which ranks songs and albums in different genres across the globe, made the announcement via its official Twitter page.

“@burnaboy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ debuts at No. 1 on this week’s #WorldAlbums chart,” it wrote.

The feat comes at about the same time that the album debuted at number 54 on the Billboard 200 music chart.

The 15-track project, which is the singer’s fifth album, was released on August 14, after failing to meet its July release date.

‘Twice as Tall’ was co-produced by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, a US media mogul and rapper, and Bosede Ogulu, Burna Boy’s mother.

Burna Boy’s fourth studio album ‘African Giant’ was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards which held last year.

Other Nigerian artists who have appeared in various charts on Billboard include Wizkid, Davido and 2face Idibia whose sixth studio album ‘The Ascension’ debuted at number 12 on the Billboard World Albums chart in 2014. 2face became the first Nigerian artist to achieve that feet.
