‘Buy Your Wife Coke’ — Excited Judge Tells Couple Who No Longer Wants Divorce

A customary court sitting in Kubwa, Abuja, has advised a couple to shower love and gifts on each other after they testified on Wednesday that they had resolved their differences and would no longer want their marriage dissolved.

One Mrs Janet Usman and Mr Danladi Usman, had earlier petitioned the court to end their marriage.

But when they were called up towards the dock by the Registrar on Wednesday, the woman affirmed that she had settled with her husband.

Presiding judge, Mohammed Alkali, with a smile on his face, asked her husband whether his wife was accurate of which he responded affirmatively with a smile.

“So, buy her a big coke!’ the excited judge replied while urging the woman to replicate love to her husband particularly in the interest of their children.

“You can follow same madam for the sake of your children,” the judge said.

Also, Janet told the judge that they resolved their issues with some conditions attached.

When asked to state them, she said it was with her lawyer who was absent because of her car had a problem on the way.

Alkali then held that since both of them have confirmed to have settled their differences, he will strike out the suit on the next adjourned date.

He also told the couple to inform the lawyer involved to send the conditions to the registrar ahead of time.

“The effect of settlement is that we are going to strike out the suit.

“This matter is further adjourned to Thursday for report of settlement,” the judge ruled.
