CAF Slams a $5,000 Fine on Nigeria For Fans Misconduct
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has ordered Nigeria to pay a fine of $5,000, for fans misconduct during its first leg 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match on June 13 against Chad.
CAF announced this decision via its official website on Tuesday.

CAF said Nigeria was punished because fans rushed into the pitch to celebrate the Super Eagles’ second goal in the match played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The Eagles won the match 2-0.
The continent’s football governing body revealed that it reached the verdict at its disciplinary board meeting on September 20.
The statement reads; “Nigeria, CAN 2017, Match 13 Nigeria/Tchad’, Pitch Invasion when Nigeria scores, Fine 5.000 USD.”
Co-incidentally, the NFF have already announced that Kaduna will again host the Eagles’ next home game in the AFCON qualifying series when they take on group leaders, Egypt.
