Nigeria, Binghamton University, United States of America were assailed on Sunday, July 14th by the news of the death of a Nigerian undergraduate Basketballer, Calistus Anyichie who drowned in a water park in the US state of New York.
Anyichie who was a political science student at the Binghamton University died in a drowning accident.
Not many however know much about Anyichie other than he is a Nigerian.
Who then is Calistus Anyichie?

Calistus Anyichie was born 20th August, 1999.
State of Origin
He hails from Enugu State, South East of Nigeria.
Institutions Attended
Though he hailed from from Nigeria, Calistus Anyichie lived in Short Hills, New Jersey, before he started attending Binghamton University. He attended St. Mary-Assumption High School, where he played basketball for three years, was the team captain and was selected all-conference as a senior.
Basketball Career
He led the league in blocked shots, helped his team win a division title for three consecutive years, and was recognized as one of state’s top scholar athletes by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Association. He also was a member of National Honor Society.
Anyichie played in 32 games as a freshman, averaging 1.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 9.1 minutes per game. He finished third on the team with 21 blocks and scored a season-high 10 points on Feb. 2 at Albany.
