A statement by Femi Adesina, adviser on media and publicity to President Buhari, said Mr Mbayu congratulated ‘Nigeria on the recent arrest and repatriation of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), through the collaboration of national security agencies and INTERPOL’.

THE WHISTLER reported that Kanu was rearrested in Kenya and repatriated to Nigeria. He is currently remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services on the orders of a federal high court, led by Justice Binta Nyako.
Justice Nyako first granted the IPOB leader bail in 2017, but he jumped it.
