CBN Set To Visit IDP Camps

This was revealed by the immediate past national president of the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA) and Head, Project Planning and Implementation Division of the CBN, Alhaji Muhammadu Kabiru Nuhu-Koko.

Nuhu-Koko, who made the statement when he was awarded the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Platinum leadership award certificate of credence as the Garkuwan Matasan Arewa by the Northern Youth Network (NYN), stated that the CBN governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele had sent representatives of the bank to go round the camps and report back.

He further disclosed that the visit will enlighten the displaced person on the functions of banks, as many Nigerians live in ignorance of the banks’ responsibilities and do not utilise it as expected.

“Due to ignorance, people don’t know what CBN does. But it involves in intervention of small scale industries and gives loans to farmers. People who should know do not know and the monies are just lying there unattended to and sometimes, smaller banks use them for their businesses.”
