CHAN 2018 FINAL: Moroccans Relish Victory Over Nigeria

Moroccan football fans were in joyous mood on Sunday as the Atlas Lions won the African Nations Championship trophy after defeating Nigeria to a whopping 4-0 at Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca in Morocco.

The action kicked off on Sunday evening at 8:00 pm as the super eagles found it difficult to switch into gear as the lively host ran riot with pace and accurate passes that left the Nigerians overwhelmed. The Nigerian Eagles team were no match for the Moroccans who ran out comfortable winners in regulation time.

The Nigerian coach, coach Salisu Yusuf set up his player on a 4-2-3-1 formation, his most preferred formation at the African Nations Championship, playing a four-man defense of Osas Okoro, Ikouwem Udoh, Stephen Eze and Kalu Orji, that had no answers for the constant wave of attacks by the scintillating attacking play of the Moroccans.

Morocco scored opened the scoring in the 43rd minute of the game and after that came the 2nd 3rd and 4th goal that had no reply by the obviously outplayed Nigerians.

Moses Eleji from the Nigerian team was issued a second yellow card in the early beginnings of the second half after he roughly tackled his opponent leaving the super eagles with only 10 players for the remaining of the match.

Zakaria Hadraf scored a brace, while Walid El Karti and Ayooub El Kaabi scored the remaining two goals for the Moroccans.
