Chaos At Abuja Airport As Airlines Cancel Flights, Hundreds Stranded

Findings by The Whistler show that as at 12:40pm there has been no flight in or out of the airport.

It was a bedlam as sorts as frustrated passengers yelled at airline officials who took to keeping straight faces while others abandoned their duty posts altogether.

There was no official of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria to calm frayed nerves.

Our correspondent said most of the passengers were seen making their way out of the terminal building, while others could be seen dejected hanging around.

Those in the know faulted the scarcity of aviation fuel for the massive cancellations.

In the past few weeks, two airlines, Aero and First Nation, have suspended operations till further notice, while Arik Airline, Nigeria’s biggest carrier, briefly suspended operations on Tuesday but announced resumption of flights later in the night but was yet to operate any flight into or out of the airport as at the time of going to press.

Further details later.
