Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG has lured out of favour Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi with a deal worth £170,000-a-week.

The Nigerian captain currently earns £80,000-a-week at Chelsea but his contract expires at the end of the season.

Former Chelsea manager, Andre Villas Boas, who now manages Shanghai SIPG wants to re-unite with the 29-year-old Nigerian, who is yet to feature under Antonio Conte this season.

According to reports, Villas Boas, who replaced Sven-Goran Eriksson as boss of the Chinese Super League club also wants to sign Chelsea captain John Terry at his new club.

Mikel is likely to leave Stamford Bridge in January having been fused out of action his season under Conte and is being heavily linked with French club Olympique Marseille.

Mikel is the second-longest serving player at Chelsea, having arrived from Norwegian club Lyn in 2006, however the summer arrival of N’Golo Kante and his decision to represent Nigeria at the Olympic Games in pre-season have seen him fall out of favour under Conte.
