Civil Defence Uncovers Decomposing Corpse Of Lady In Anambra

A decomposing corpse of a middle-aged woman, suspected to be a rape victim, was on Tuesday discovered in Oba community in Anambra state. The corpse was found half-naked behind a building.

A release by the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said the corpse was discovered around Community and  United Primary School, Oba, Idemili  Local Government Area of the state.

According to the release signed by the command’s public relations officer, ASC Emmanuel Okadigbo, “On the 25 /2/2020 at about 07:30 am,  at Community and United Primary School, Oba, before Igwe’s palace in Idemili South, a dead body (female) suspected to be a victim of rape was seen lying half-naked behind one of the primary school buildings after the vigilante chairman contacted NSCDC in the division.

“The divisional officer of NSCDC, Idemili South, SC Ochie Paul, with his officers, visited the scene, confirmed and discovered that the body has started smelling and could cause epidemic in the school.

“Photograph was taken and the divisional officer contacted the police, the Igwe’s representative, and  the chairman of the  local government.”
As at the time of filing this report, the corpse has been deposited in a mortuary.
