The clash saw the two groups exchanging gunshots, which lasted for over 20 minutes with many getting injured as they tried to flee the scene of the fight.

The Whistler learnt that the KAROTA’ attempt to bar the road union workers from loading passengers from Zaria road roundabout was what led to the fracas.

“On seeing the danger around, policemen fired 15 gunshots to disperse the motorists and workers around,” the witness said.
