Confusion As Prisons Declare ‘Killer’ Togolese Cook Alive After He Was Pronounced Dead

Contrary to earlier reports that Sunday Anani, the suspected killer of late Credit Switch Technology boss, Chief Ope Bademosi, is dead, the Nigeria Prisons Service has reacted in the negative.

The Lagos Command of the prisons service has countered the reports, stating that the 22-year-old was still very much alive.

The spokesperson of the Command, Rotimi Oladokun, made the clarifications in a statement late Wednesday.

“I have confirmed that he is in the prison and he is doing fine. There is nothing wrong with him,” Oladokun told reporters.

Anani had days after his arrest confessed to killing Mr Badamosi in his bedroom just few days after he was employed as cook at the businessman’s residence in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi.

The Chief Magistrate of the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, Mrs O.O. Oshin, had on November 12 ordered the cook’s remand in prison pending December 18 when the Directorate of Public Prosecutions would give further directives on the matter.
