COP26: Buhari Inspects Nigerian Pavilion In Glasgow [VIDEO]

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, inspected Nigeria’s pavilion shortly before the opening ceremony of the 26th session of the UN Climate Change Conference, otherwise known as COP26.

Our correspondent reports that President Buhari was received at the temporary structure by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva; and the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari; who are on the Nigerian delegation to the conference taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, the United Kingdom.

Others on the delegation are the Group Executive Director, Ventures and Business Development​ (NNPC), Dr. Billy Okoye; and the Group General Manager, National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), Mr Bala Wunti.

The green and brown coloured structure will serve as a meeting point for the Nigerian delegation attending the conference. Watch video HERE.

Buhari’s senior media assistant, Garba Shehu, had earlier disclosed the president’s lineup of activities to include the delivery of a speech at the high-level segment for Heads of State and Government.

Buhari will also participate in some side-line events hosted by Presidents Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron of the United States and France, respectively.

After his engagements at COP26, the Nigerian leader will proceed to Paris, France on an official visit “to reciprocate an earlier one to Nigeria by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, and also attend the Paris Peace forum 2021, the fourth edition to be hosted by the French President,” said Shehu.
