Coronavirus: FAAN Begins Routine Checks On Passengers

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria has said it has deployed thermal scanners in all airports across the country to monitor the temperature of passengers and capture their pictures.

This development is an effort by the airport authority to protect passengers and prevent the spread of the deadly virus known as Corona Virus into Nigeria.

The disease which first broke out in China has killed six people, with over 300 reported to be carriers.

FAAN in a tweet on its official twitter page on Wednesday urged passenger’s to comply with all routine quarantine checks at the nation’s airports as the highly communicable virus has spread to border countries like Japan, Thailand and South Korea.

Recall that in combating the deadly Ebola virus in 2014, FAAN erected thermal scanners across the nation’s airports.
