Coronavirus: Facebook Supports WHO To Stop Spread

Popular social media site Facebook has offered support to the World Health Organization in the fight to contain and stop the spread of the deadly Covid-19, which is fast spreading across the world.

Facebook has offered its platform to WHO to pass detailed information on Coronavirus to members of the public in order to curb circulation of misleading information on the virus.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said ” We are giving WHO as many free ads as they need for their coronavirus response along with others in kind support”

He also maintained that the company would remove false and misleading posts made on the popular social media site. 

The company had on February banned any advertisements on products offering cures and prevention of Corona virus

The federal government of Nigeria had on Friday 28  February reached  similar agreements with Facebook after a first case of the virus was reported in Lagos.
