Coronavirus: German Finance Minister Commits Suicide

German finance minister, Thomas Schafer has committed suicide due to the economic implications of the coronavirus on his state, Hesse. DW News reported.

According to reports, Schafer’s corpse was found on a rail road tracks close to Frankfurt.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, a German newspaper reported that the finance expert left a suicide note.

Volker Bouffier said on Sunday that, “his main concern was whether he could manage to fulfill the huge expectations of the population, especially in terms of financial aid.

“For him, there was clearly no way out. He was disappointed and so he had to leave us. That has shocked us, has shocked me.”
