Coronavirus: Trump Signs $2.2Trillion Rescue Package For Citizens

The president of the United States, Donald Trump has signed a $2.2 trillion coronavirus rescue package, geared towards assisting Americans in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Vice President Mike Pence, who tweeted about this said that the package would help workers and small scale businesses (SMEs) while providing incentives to American industries.

It would, among other things, make direct payments to many Americans.

The passage of the ‘CaresAct’ followed favorable votes by the U.S. Congress, in the midst of a national lockdown.

“This is a pandemic that we haven’t even seen for over 100 years in our country; it’s really such a tragedy.

“So we had to take important action that puts families first and workers first and that’s what we did,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had said.

Trump had said that the bill would keep the American economy strong and help in curbing the Coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, the U.S has the highest number of covid-19 cases totalling over 100,000.
