Corruption In NDDC: Akpabio Tells Reps Panel Lawmakers ‘Biggest Beneficiaries’

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has claimed that most contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) are usually given to members of the National Assembly.

Akpabio said there were records to prove that federal lawmakers were benefiting more from NDDC contracts than ordinary contractors.

The minister made the claim when he appeared before the House of Representatives committee investigating alleged irregular expenditures in the NDDC.

“We have records to show that most of the contracts at NDDC are given to members of the national assembly… You people are the biggest beneficiaries,” said Akpabio
