Corruption No Longer Business Under Buhari – APC Chieftain

Dr Nyerere Anyim, the Abia State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the 2015 general elections, has lauded President Buhari’s war on corruption.

Nyerere in an interview with journalists said the fight against corruption under the APC’s reign has yielded positive results.

“It wasn’t business as usual and the result today is that one of the cancers that have eaten into the membrane of this country was corruption and it is not as it used to be before.”

“An adage says, River cannot swallow someone that she has not seen his or her legs, you can’t vomit what you have not eaten, and you don’t expect people that did not eat to vomit.”

“People are afraid now as they no longer see it as business, from the recovery made so far from individuals and institution that govern this nation in the past, we can now say that this change have yielded positive results. I have told you about corruption, it is in the air and everybody feels it now.”

He advised the PDP-led government in Abia to start packing their luggage, saying their services have never for the past 20 years of rule in the state been of the people’s interest.

“The instrumentality they use to ascend to power would not be business as usual, it is a statement of fact that there has never been election in Abia state for the write result but the platform with which they use to do it then has been crippled.”

“So, it is as good as telling them to start packing their luggage to move out from the government house because their presence there has done nothing for the people of Abia State.”

Nyerere also disputed reports of a possible division in Abia APC.

“Don’t allow anyone to deceive you because as far as I am concerned there is unity in APC under one leadership of the chairman of this state Hon. Donatus Nwamkpa,” He said.
