“We have well-equipped primary health centres in our council. We also have qualified and dedicated medical personnel serving there. This is meant to give the best health care services in the council at the most affordable rate. We want to encourage women to benefit from these services,” he said.
The coordinator of officers in charge of the centres, Mrs Ebere Chibueze, commended Dr Odo for the initiative, which she said he introduced and had sustained since he became the chairman of the council.
“Your incentives to nursing mothers have put smiles on our faces. They have also increased the patronage of the health centres because aside quality and affordable health services in the council, these wrappers are encouragements. I call on other council areas to emulate this to reduce and even eliminate avoidable deaths associated with child delivery.”
