Court Adjourns Trial Of Maina’s Son, Faisal

The Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja has adjourned the trial of Faisal to March 17,18,19 and 30.

Faisal is the son of Abdurasheed Maina, a former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT).

The trial Judge, Justice Okon Abang, postponed the trial on Thursday due to the absence of the prosecution counsel.

Faisal is being prosecuted (alongside his father) by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) over an alleged diversion of public funds.

EFCC also accused his father of diverting over 2 billion naira pension funds; offences bordering on Procurement Fraud and Obtaining by False Pretence.

The defense counsel, Adeola Adedipe prayed the court to adjourn the trial to another date, as a result of the absence of the prosecution.
