Court Confiscates Fayose’s International Passport, Grants Him Bail

Former Governor of Ekiti State Peter Ayodele Fayose has been granted bail in the sum of N50 million by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The court also directed him to deposit his international passport.

The ex-governor’s spokesman Lere Olayinka revealed this in a tweet on Monday: “Fayose granted bail with the sum of N50m bond, surety to present three years tax clearance. International Passport to be deposited with the court.”

Fayose had on Monday, appeared before the court sitting in Ikoyi, after being charged with N30.8 billion fraud.

The immediate past Governor of Ekiti is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alongside his company, Spotless Investment Ltd on an 11-count charge of N30.8 billion fraud.

He, however, had denied all the charges against him.
