Court Of Appeal Indefinitely Adjourns Judgement On Saraki’s Case

An appeal court in Abuja has indefinitely adjourned Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki’s appeal, against the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

You will recall that Saraki is challenging the 13-count criminal charge preferred against him by the Federal Government before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.

He had also gone before the appellate court to query the constitutionality of the warrant of arrest earlier issued against him by chairman of the CCT, Justice Danladi Umar.

He said he was not given any hearing opportunity by the CCB before he was dragged before the CCT, adding that such actions were contrary to the laws establishing the CCB and CCT.

The Court did not give reasons for adjournment of Saraki’s suit, however, a new date will be communicated to all parties.
