Court Orders Arrest of Innoson Boss

A high court sitting in Lagos has ordered the arrest of the Innocent Chukwuma, chairman of Innoson Motors Limited, over his failure to appear before it.

The judge, Mojisola Dada, while giving the order on Friday, said Chukwuma should be arrested and brought to court on March 1, the next adjourned date.

The Anambra State born Industrialist is reportedly in a running battle with Guaranty Trust Bank, and was arrested last December by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He has since denied any wrongdoing, but the EFCC said Chukwuma and his brother Charles are being investigated by the Insurance and Capital Market Fraud Section of the agency over matters bordering on forgery.

The anti-graft agency filed a four-count charge of fraud against them, accusing the businessmen of obtaining containers of motorcycles spare parts by false pretense between 2009 and July 2011 in Lagos.
