Covid-19: EU President Self-isolates After Contact With Infected Person

She disclosed this in a tweet on Monday.

Meanwhile, she noted that she had tested negative for the virus but added that she would undergo another round of test again.

“I’ve been informed that I participated in a meeting last Tuesday attended by a person who yesterday tested positive for COVID-19.

“In accordance with regulations in force, I’m therefore self-isolating until tomorrow morning. I’ve tested negative on Thursday and am tested again today,” she tweeted.

The development makes her another high profile personality (within one week) to go into quarantine over the possibility of being infected or a confirmation of contracting Covid-19.

Last week, the United States President, Donald Trump, tested positive for Covid-19.

He is currently self-isolating at a military hospital in the country.

Covid-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China, and has spread to over 130 countries.

Research centres across the globe are working on the right vaccine to combat the ravaging virus.
