COVID-19: Lagos, Kwara Lead As 28 States Record 653 New Cases

Lagos and Kwara States have topped the list of 653 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections recorded in the country on Saturday, July 18.

Figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday night showed that Lagos, Kwara and the FCT recorded 115, 85, and 80 cases, respectively.

Others are: Rivers-36, Ondo-35, Oyo-30, Katsina-28, Kaduna-19, Abia-19, Nasarawa-18, Plateau-17, Imo-16, Ogun-9, Ebonyi-9, Benue-9, Kano-9, Delta-8, Bauchi-7, Ekiti-6, Gombe-4, Bayelsa-4, Adamawa-4, Osun-4,Cross River-1, Yobe-1,  Borno-1 and Zamfara-1. 

The new infections bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 36,107 from 35, 454 on Friday. 

The NCDC said the total number of discharged patients were 14, 938, while total deaths from the virus stood at 778 as of July 18.

The agency had earlier advised members of the public to call their hotlines if they experienced cough or fever and any of these symptoms: Loss of Taste, Loss of Smell, Difficulty Breathing, Diarrhea, Catarrh, Fatigue, Shivering, Body Pain, Headache and Sore Throat.
