Covid-19: Scotland Orders National Lockdown Till End Of January

She said that the covid-19 situation in the country was now “extremely serious” adding that urgent measures needed to be put in place.

But she added that those going out for essential purposes would be allowed to do so.

“We have decided to introduce from midnight tonight for the duration of January, a legal requirement to stay at home, except for essential purposes. This is similar to the lockdown of March last year,” she said.

Recall that the World Health Organization (WHO) had called for caution amid a second wave of the pandemic.

It had strongly advised strict compliance to the public health advisory on Covid-19.
