The President of the European Union Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, on Wednesday, has said massive vaccination was the way out of the COVID-19 pandemic amid compliance with public health advisories.

The continent of Europe has been badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, leading to 21,568,389 registered cases and 497,737 deaths (according to latest Worldometer data).

And countries like Germany, Italy, France and the United Kingdom have already imposed fresh covid-19 lockdowns in view of the recent upsurge.

The EU, which is made up of about 27 countries of Europe, has authorized the first COVID-19 vaccine usage on the continent.

Leyen, in a tweet on Wednesday, expressed hope that the vaccine would put a permanent stop to the spread of the virus.

But she called for strict adherence to health protocols.

“We all long to have our normal lives back. Restriction measures help reduce the spread of #COVID19, but impact our lives.

“The lasting way out of this crisis is vaccination, which starts in a few days across the European Union. Until then, let’s be careful,” she stated.
