Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos Submit Transfer Requests, United On Alert

Cristiano Ronaldo and his Real Madrid team mate Sergio Ramos, has handed in transfer request to the club hierarchy.

This is according to a Spanish news outlet Sport which reported that Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and handed in their transfer requests.

Both players have been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent seasons.

The original story was aired on Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito last night, alleging that Ronaldo and Ramos had gone to meet Perez to tell him they wish to depart the Spanish capital.

The incident reportedly happened after Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat at home by city rivals Atletico Madrid last weekend. Real are now 12 points behind leaders Barcelona in third place in La Liga table.

Ronaldo who played for United between 2003 and 2009 before his then-world record £80m summer move to Real Madrid. The Portuguese scored 118 goals in 292 appearances for Manchester United, and won three Premier League titles, three League Cups, one FA Cup and one Champions League in a trophy-laden spell with the club.
